Former Member of Parliament for Wajir East, Rashid Kassim Amin, has officially defected from the Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM-K) to join the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He cited his desire to align with a government delivering results for his constituents, following extensive consultations with community leaders.

• Amin was officially welcomed by UDA Secretary General Hassan Omar Hassan on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at the party's headquarters.
• He stated his move was driven by a commitment to development for Wajir and the Northern Kenya region, aiming to integrate them into President Ruto's transformation agenda.
• This defection follows that of MP for Mwingi West Charles Ngusya Nguna, who switched from Wiper to UDA on October 10, 2025, and was praised by President Ruto for his bold decision to promote development.
