Kenya's grassroots motorsport, the Shell Autocross and Autocross Plus Championship, has experienced a significant revival in 2024 after struggling with declining participation from 2023. The 254 Motorsports Club, which now runs the championship, has successfully boosted entries and fan interest through strategic changes.
- Participation has nearly doubled, with some events attracting up to 47 drivers in 2024, compared to barely 20 cars previously.
 - Vivo Energy Kenya, through Shell V-Power, is the main sponsor, with other brands like Coca-Cola and Red Bull considering involvement in 2026.
 - New venues such as Kikuyu’s “Twisty 2” track and extended Autocross Plus stages of up to 30 kilometres have been introduced, for an entry fee of Sh8,000.
 - 22 drivers under 18 have competed this season, including 14 first-timers and three female racers.
