A Kenyan toddler has been successfully repatriated from Indonesia after the child's mother was detained and is facing legal challenges. The child arrived safely at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) early Saturday morning and was handed over to his grandmother.

• The repatriation costs were fully covered by the State Department for Diaspora Affairs and the Kenya Mission in Jakarta.
• Grace Akello, an officer from the Diaspora Affairs Department, accompanied the child.
• Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu personally oversaw the case to prevent the minor from being placed under state care abroad.
