In a separate initiative, the Interledger Foundation awarded a grant to United States International University-Africa (USIU-Africa) in Kenya. The grant is part of the foundation's "NextGen Higher Education Grant Program." Its purpose is to promote open-payment technology and foster a workforce knowledgeable in open-source payment systems to enhance financial inclusion.
