Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga has initiated a Senate inquiry into the termination of over 500 health workers by the Siaya County Public Service Board, following claims they worked for months without pay despite competitive hiring processes.

• More than 500 health workers were dismissed after their appointments were revoked by the Siaya County Public Service Board.
• Senator Oburu Odinga requested the Senate Standing Committee on Labour and Social Welfare to investigate the "countywide concern."
• The affected staff allegedly worked from January 2025 to August 2025 without pay, with 520 later deemed irregularly employed.
• The Senator demands a report on the hiring irregularities, reasons for termination, and compensation for the nine months of unpaid service.
