Head of Public Service Felix Koskei has issued a stern warning to Chapter 15 independent offices against using their independence as an excuse for neglecting their duties.

• Koskei stated that underperforming offices risk public backlash and legal consequences.
• The warning was delivered at the launch of the SRC 2025/26–2029/30 strategic plan in Nairobi, Kenya.
• The remarks come amidst ongoing tensions between the executive and independent bodies, with the Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) recently facing legal challenges over remuneration.
