An Ethiopian asylum seeker, Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, convicted of sexual assault, has been deported from the UK to Ethiopia after being wrongly released from prison.

• Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu was sentenced to a 12-month term in September for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl and a woman.
• Officials accidentally released Kebatu from prison on October 24, leading to a three-day manhunt.
• Shabana Mahmood, the interior minister, stated, "I have pulled every lever to deport Mr Kebatu and remove him off British soil," calling him a "vile child sex offender."
