The Kenya Tourism Federation (KTF) has raised serious concerns regarding changes to the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) park fee payment system, citing a lack of consultation and negative impacts on the tourism industry. The new system is creating financial and operational challenges, threatening Kenya's competitiveness as a global tourism destination.

• Only M-PESA and Visa card payments are now accepted, with the bank transfer option removed.
• An exorbitant 8.5 percent processing fee has been introduced for card payments.
• The KWS is applying an exchange rate of KSH 135 per USD, significantly higher than the Central Bank of Kenya's rate of approximately KSH 129.50.
• KTF Chairman Fred Odek called for the reinstatement of previous payment options and a review of the card processing fee and exchange rate.
