Ahead of the upcoming Malava Parliamentary by-election, the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) has withdrawn its candidate, Edgar Busiega, in favor of Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) aspirant Seth Panyako.

• The withdrawal is attributed to a consensus among the United Opposition to field a single candidate against the UDA candidate for the November polls.
• DCP deputy party leader Cleophas Malala announced the decision, emphasizing unity to win the seat.
• Busiega stated his confidence in Panyako's abilities, saying he was leaving Malava "in safer hands."
