• African Union Commission (AUC) Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf expressed deep regret over reported loss of lives during post-election protests.
• The AUC reaffirmed its readiness to support Tanzania in preserving peace, national cohesion, and democracy, emphasizing the need to protect fundamental freedoms including peaceful assembly and expression.
