The long-awaited process to review the Athletics Kenya (AK) constitution has finally begun, following a decade of legal battles and internal disputes. The reform aims to align AK's governing document with Kenya's Sports Act and address calls for fair rules and good governance in the federation.
- The constitutional review started yesterday in Mandera and Kapenguria, marking the first of 12 days of the reform process.
 - The Court of Appeal had ordered AK to review its constitution to comply with the Sports Act.
 - Athletics legends, including two-time Boston Marathon champion Moses Tanui, demand that athletes be recognized as AK members with the right to elect officials.
 - The previous High Court ruling in March 2024 mandated that public views be considered within 90 days for a further review of the April 27, 2016, AK constitution.
