The M-Pesa Foundation, an arm of Safaricom, has launched a Sh30 billion education initiative called Citizens of the Future aimed at improving educational outcomes in Kenya over the next five years.

The program will invest approximately Sh30 billion over five years to update infrastructure, enhance teacher ICT skills for over 600 institutions, and provide scholarships to over 10,000 students.
Safaricom CEO Peter Ndegwa highlighted the goal of bridging educational gaps through innovation and material support.
The initiative includes creating "Schools of the Future" with modern, sustainable, and inclusive infrastructure, integrated with technology, emphasizing training for academic excellence and future-ready learners.
