A Bomet man has been sentenced to 40 years in prison for the 2020 murder of his wife. Robert Kipkorir Tonui was found guilty of dousing Emmy Chepkoech Mitei with petrol and setting her ablaze.

• The deceased's family, including daughter Anita Chelangat and sister Naomi Mitei, expressed relief that justice was served after a five-year ordeal.
• Tonui was found guilty of murder contrary to Section 203 of the Penal Code, with the court ruling his actions showed clear intent to cause fatal injuries.
