A Kenyan delegation visited Manhiça, Mozambique, to document women-led climate resilience efforts in communities severely impacted by the February 2023 floods. These floods devastated over 8,500 hectares of sugarcane fields, destroying livelihoods and displacing thousands.

• Over 43,000 people were affected, with 16,500 displaced, and 40,000 hectares of farmland damaged.
• The African Women’s Development and Communication Network (FEMNET) supports initiatives like MULEIDE Cycle Classes, empowering women and youth with climate education.
• Isalifa Ismael, a program participant, highlights the shift to economic independence through farming, stating, "This farm has changed my life... I’ve planted mango trees and learned to make and sell mango juice. It’s my money — earned by my hands."
