The National Police Service (NPS) has announced that its nationwide recruitment exercise for Police Constables will take place on Monday, November 17, 2025, after a legal dispute over who has the mandate to conduct the hiring.

• The recruitment, set for 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM across the country, follows a High Court ruling that NPS, not the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), is responsible for the exercise.
• Eligible applicants must be between 18 and 28 years old, a registered Kenyan citizen with a valid ID, and possess a minimum D+ grade in KCSE.
• Candidates must meet physical requirements (males at least 1.7 meters, females at least 1.6 meters), be physically and mentally fit, and free of criminal records or pregnancies for female applicants.
• Inspector General Douglas Kanja Kirocho warned against bribery, emphasizing that the process is free and fair for all qualified candidates.
