A new modular containerised solar hybrid system has been installed in Lodwar town, Turkana County, aiming to provide clean and affordable electricity to millions of Kenyans in off-grid areas. This initiative addresses the significant portion of Kenya's population, estimated at 43 percent, still without access to the national grid.

• The system features a 50 kW solar hybrid inverter and a 70 kWh battery storage system, reducing reliance on costly and environmentally harmful diesel generators.
• Davis & Shirtliff Managing Director Edward Davis stated that this ready-to-use system would help communities gain electricity faster and more affordably, supporting economic growth and social development.
• To achieve universal power access by 2030, Kenya needs solar hybrid mini-grids to serve at least 1.3 million people, requiring an investment of about $281 million (Sh36.53 billion).
