Following a seven-week nationwide lecturers' strike, Kenyatta University (KU) and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) have announced the resumption of classes on Monday, November 10, 2025.
- Lecturers ended their strike after the University and Allied Staff Union (UASU) and the Inter-Public Universities Councils’ Consultative Forum (IPUCCF) signed a return-to-work formula.
- The agreement guarantees payment of salary arrears under the 2017–2021 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), and protection from victimization for lecturers.
- JKUAT instructed students to report back on Friday, November 7, 2025, while Kenyatta University students are expected back on Monday, November 10, 2025.
