An Osprey, a migratory bird of prey from Russia, was rescued in Siaya County, Kenya, after becoming entangled in a fishing net. The bird, bearing a Russian identification tag, is now undergoing rehabilitation before being released back into the wild.

• The bird was discovered early Friday morning by local fishermen in Ugingo Village, Usigu Sub-location.
• A Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) team from Siaya, led by Deputy County Warden Byatt Shikanga, responded to the incident.
• The Osprey was transported to the Raptor Centre in Soysambu Conservancy under the direction of Head of the KWS Veterinary Department Isaac Lekolool and raptor specialist Simon Thomsett from the Kenya Bird of Prey Trust.
