Kenya has launched the National Dual Training Policy, a significant step to integrate practical industry experience with classroom learning, aiming to boost youth employability and align training with market demands.

• Over 10,000 trainees currently enrolled in Dual Training programs across 100 TVET institutions and 93 vocations.
• The policy, developed by the Ministry of Education through the State Department for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), was formally approved by the Cabinet on January 21, 2025.
• Hon. Julius Migos Ogamba, Cabinet Secretary for Education, lauded the policy as crucial for a competitive workforce.
• Supported by the Governments of Finland and Germany, with technical cooperation from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
• Finland's Ambassador Ms Riina-Riikka Heikka and Germany's Deputy Head of Development Cooperation Friederike Hemker reaffirmed their countries' commitment to Kenya's educational and workforce development.
