Retired Bishop Emeritus Philip Sulumeti of the Kakamega Diocese has passed away at the age of 88 at Nairobi Hospital. His death was announced by incumbent Kakamega Bishop Joseph Obanyi, who extended condolences and requested prayers.

• Bishop Sulumeti was born on August 15, 1937, and was ordained a priest on January 6, 1966.
• He served as Bishop of Kakamega from 1978 and retired on December 5, 2014.
