A former ICT assistant at the Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company Limited (NCWSC) has been charged with defrauding the government of Ksh8.3 million using forged academic certificates. The Ethics and Anti-Graft Commission (EACC) confirmed that Asembo faced multiple charges after investigations revealed the KCSE certificates she presented were fake.

Asembo allegedly used forged KCSE certificates to secure employment and unlawfully obtain Ksh8,337,563.95 from NCWSC.
The charges include fraudulent acquisition of public funds, deceiving a principal, forgery, and uttering a false document.
After failing to appear for an initial arraignment on September 5 and going into hiding, Asembo was later released on a Ksh1 million bond with two sureties.
