The Kenyan Cabinet has approved the establishment of new embassies in Vatican City, Denmark, and Vietnam to strengthen diplomatic ties and expand global engagement. Additionally, the Cabinet greenlit amendments to the Public Finance Management Act, 2025, aimed at streamlining fund disbursement to county governments.

• The embassy in Vatican City will enhance cooperation in peace-building, climate action, and humanitarian initiatives, and boost collaboration with Catholic development agencies which manage over 7,700 schools and 500 health facilities in Kenya.
• The amendments to the Public Finance Management Act, 2025 propose splitting the County Governments Additional Allocations Bill into two separate laws to expedite the release of funds to county governments.
• The new missions in Copenhagen, Denmark, and Hanoi, Vietnam will broaden Kenya’s diplomatic footprint and strengthen bilateral and trade relations.
