The Chromecast with Google TV (4K) has finally received an October update that reportedly fixes a long-standing live IPTV playback issue which has plagued users since the initial Android 14 rollout.

• The firmware, identified as UTTC.250917.004, includes an overdue security patch, ending a 10-month drought of updates.
• The bug, which caused stuttering and audio desync, primarily affected 1080i@50fps H.264 streams.
• The update size is over 760MB for some users and approximately 124MB for others.
