Lugari Member of Parliament Nabii Nabwera has secured a temporary court injunction against blogger George Opunga Tamata, preventing further publication of alleged defamatory statements linking the MP to the disappearance and death of a school principal. The High Court granted an interim order ahead of a full hearing scheduled for November 20, 2025.

• An application was filed on November 10, 2025, seeking to restrain the blogger from making statements falsely connecting MP Nabwera to the disappearance and death of Munyuki High School Principal, Simon Isiaho Shange.
• The alleged defamatory posts were disseminated on social media accounts including Kakamega Post, Malava Online, and Lugari Watchdog.
• The interim injunction aims to protect MP Nabwera’s reputation from further harm pending the inter partes hearing.
