Kisumu City Manager Michael Abala Wanga has been summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for alleged forgery and corruption offenses, including using fake academic certificates and fraudulently facilitating a foreign trip for his girlfriend.

• Wanga is accused of using forged academic documents to secure his appointment as Kisumu City Manager.
• He allegedly included a non-employee female companion, described as his girlfriend, in an official trip to Lagos, Nigeria, from July 8 to 12, 2024, listing her as a Kisumu County Government employee to receive allowances at public expense.
• The charges against Wanga include forgery, fraudulent acquisition of public property, and presentation of forged certificates, with the DPP concurring with the prosecution.
