Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary Roseline Njogu has denied claims that Kenyan mothers and their children are stranded in Saudi Arabia due to unprocessed DNA results. This comes after Kiambu Senator Karungo wa Thangwa alleged that the government had failed to return DNA results taken three years ago, preventing mothers from leaving.

• PS Njogu clarified that DNA results are not mandatory for issuing birth certificates to children born to Kenyan mothers abroad, contradicting the senator's assertion.
• From the 2023 DNA project, all birth certificate applications were processed, and 73 children and over 50 mothers have already been repatriated to Kenya.
• Senator Thangwa plans to raise the issue in the Senate to ensure the Kenyan Embassy in Riyadh fast-tracks repatriation for remaining mothers and children.
