A househelp has been arrested in Nairobi's Kileleshwa estate for allegedly stealing a safe containing a gun and a significant sum of money from her employer. The suspect is accused of a theft that included cash in multiple currencies and a pistol with ammunition.

• The accused, Marydina Anupi John, 43, allegedly stole Ksh.348,000 in various currencies (1,950 USD, Ksh.5,000, 600 Euros) and a Glock 19 pistol with 44 rounds of ammunition.
• The incident occurred on November 3 when the employer was out, and the househelp, who had worked for over two years, subsequently disappeared and switched off her phone.
• Principal Magistrate Margret Murage ordered Marydina Anupi John to be detained at Kilimani Police Station until November 24, 2025, as police investigate potential accomplices and search for the missing loaded firearm.
