President William Ruto officially handed over keys to 176 new homeowners at the completed Machakos Boma Yangu Estate, marking significant progress in the government's Affordable Housing Programme. This project aims to promote social integration by offering housing across all income categories, ensuring equitable access and fostering diverse, inclusive communities.

• Among the beneficiaries were Beneard Nzau, a retired civil servant, and Faith Mueni Kioko, a 26-year-old person living with disability, who both expressed joy and gratitude for finally owning homes.
• The project created over 450 jobs during construction, with 39 artisans formally certified under the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) programme.
• President Ruto also broke ground for Phase II of the project, which will add 570 units, a clubhouse with a swimming pool, an ECD school, and a shopping mall.
