The National Police Service (NPS) has invited qualified Kenyan youth to nationwide police recruitment centers on Monday, November 18, after the High Court lifted conservatory orders that had suspended the exercise. The recruitment aims to enlist 10,000 police constables across 427 centers in a single day, from 8 am to 5 pm.

• NPS Spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga emphasized that the recruitment is a "new dawn for Kenya" and warned against bribery, stating that "Anyone who indulges, or attempts to indulge, in bribery or corruption... will face the full force of the law."
• The High Court's decision by Judge Bahati Mwamuye followed an urgent application from Inspector-General of Police Douglas Kanja, who argued that an understaffed NPS posed security risks ahead of the 2027 General Election.
• Kanja also highlighted a previous October 30 ruling by the Employment and Labour Relations Court, which affirmed the Inspector-General's operational independence in recruitment, rather than the National Police Service Commission (NPSC).
