In Nairobi, Kenya, Compassion International was named NGO of the Year at the second annual NGOs Awards, while Dr. Emily Koech, head of the education nonprofit CIHEB, received the CEO of the Year honor.

• The awards ceremony recognized exemplary contributions to Kenya's development from over 300 civil society, government, and donor leaders.
• 90 NGOs were shortlisted across 18 categories, with winners determined by a hybrid system of 60% public voting and 40% expert panel assessment.
• The NGO sector in Kenya contributes Sh53 billion in annual taxes and received Sh196 billion in funding in 2023/24, employing 79,350 people.
• Other notable winners included Eric Omondi as People’s Champion and Christian Blind Mission (CBM) for Best in Healthcare.
