Nyamira Governor Amos Nyaribo faces a fresh impeachment attempt, the third against him, as a motion citing gross misconduct and abuse of office was tabled in the County Assembly on Monday.

• The motion was filed by Bonyamatuta Ward MCA Julius Kimwomi Matwere, accusing Governor Nyaribo of gross violations of the Constitution and abuse of office.
• This attempt follows two previous unsuccessful impeachment motions, with Governor Nyaribo narrowly surviving one in September of last year by a single vote (22 in favor, 12 against).
• Governor Nyaribo is also under investigation by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) over allegations of involvement in a Ksh382 million irregular tender, with raids conducted last month at his homes and offices.
• The County Assembly was adjourned until Tuesday, November 18, when the motion will be discussed.
