Mount Kenya University (MKU) has established a significant international partnership with the Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed on Tuesday. This alliance aims to revolutionize maritime education and training in Kenya, strengthening the nation's capacity to leverage its Blue Economy.

• The agreement was signed by MKU Founder, Prof. Simon Gicharu, and President of Abu Dhabi Maritime Academy, Dr. Yasser Al Wahedi.
• The partnership will enhance MKU’s Maritime Academy in Malindi, aligning curriculum with global STCW standards and addressing a critical worldwide shortage of skilled maritime professionals.
• Key areas of collaboration include knowledge exchange, advanced training programs, joint research aligned with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 9, and expanded career opportunities for students and faculty.
