Several Samoei Boys High School students were arrested after allegedly attempting to set school buildings ablaze on Wednesday night around 8pm. The unrest was reportedly sparked by frustrations over denial of access to exam leakage and strict scrutiny during the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examinations (KCSE).

• Police officers from Nandi Police Station quickly intervened, dispersing students with tear gas and restoring calm with no reported injuries.
• The incident occurred as KCSE exams conclude this Friday, following warnings from Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba about severe penalties for cheating.
• Ogamba revealed that 78 people, including non-students, had been arrested for exam malpractice as of November 13.
