A tragic bee attack in Homa Bay County, Kenya, has resulted in the death of a Grade One pupil and injuries to seven other children. The incident occurred in Michacha Village, Samba Sub-location, Suba South Constituency, after the children reportedly provoked a swarm of bees while playing.

• One child was fatally stung and later died at St Camillus Sori Hospital.
• Seven children received treatment at Magunga Level Four Hospital and were discharged.
• Area Chief Lucas Ocholla urged parents to ensure child safety during holidays.
• A similar bee attack in the same county on October 1, 2025, also led to the death of 38-year-old Bernard Omollo.
