• IEBC Chairperson Erastus Ethekon emphasized that double registration is a grave electoral offense.
• The IEBC has acquired digital systems capable of flagging and removing individuals attempting to register multiple times.
• Offenses such as double registration or providing false information are punishable by a fine not exceeding Ksh1 million or imprisonment of at least one year, or both.
• The warning comes amidst reports of politicians allegedly planning to interfere with election credibility.
