Cracks are widening within Kenya's Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party as Matungu Member of Parliament Peter Nabulindo has threatened to quit if the party ceases working with President William Ruto's administration.

• Nabulindo stated he would leave ODM if the party's current leadership ends ties with the broad-based government, citing the late former Prime Minister Raila Odinga's initial support for such an arrangement.
• He criticized ODM politicians for instigating nationwide protests, arguing that such actions are unnecessary given the current regime's achievements in areas like affordable housing and improved water and electricity supply within three years.
• The MP warned that if ODM leaders opt for opposition ahead of the next general elections, he and others will leave the party to support Ruto's administration, highlighting growing tension within ODM regarding its ties with Ruto's government, a sentiment echoed by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and Siaya Governor James Orengo.
