Delegates from seven East African countries have endorsed a declaration aimed at boosting cross-border trade for agroecological produce, recognizing its importance for food sovereignty and reducing reliance on imports. This move addresses growing consumer interest in food produced without synthetic inputs.

• The declaration was made at a conference in Jinja, Uganda, organized by the Alliance for Food Sovereignty in Africa (AFSA).
