Young golfers from across Kenya will gather at the Nyanza Golf Club in Kisumu this Saturday for the Colonel Rumo Junior Golf Tournament. This event aims to foster young talent, promote competition, and build a strong golfing culture in the Western Kenya region.

• The tournament is designed to nurture the next generation of champions and encourage participation from schools and clubs.
• Notable young talents expected to participate include Terence Kariuki, Victor Noi, Clement Rama, Faraja Mulunda, Cindy Hawi, Alannah Osoro, Shalom Asami, Antony Cheruiyot, Abigael Loretta, and Chrysser Phillip.
• Tournament director Colonel David Rumo emphasized the importance of junior tournaments in developing disciplined players for future national representation.
• The event will include a “Hidden Hole of School Uniforms” initiative to identify and support needy junior golfers for the 2026 season.
• Clubs like Kenya Airforce, Eldoret, Kitale, Kakamega, Kisii, Kericho, and Nyanza, along with schools such as Mudasa, Makini, Braeburn, Jalaram Academy, and Stepping Stones, will be represented.
