In Butali, a vehicle belonging to Democratic Action Party–Kenya (DAP-K) leader Eugene Wamalwa was torched (17). Homa Bay Town MP Peter Kaluma was attacked by a mob in Kasipul, sustaining a head injury while his bodyguard's firearm was stolen (22). DAP-K parliamentary candidate Seth Panyako claimed he was the target of an assassination attempt on the eve of the election and was later arrested after another of his vehicles was set on fire (24, 21, 17).
