Engineers are urged to embrace innovation, entrepreneurship, and artificial intelligence (AI) to shape the future of infrastructure and economic transformation in Kenya. This call was made at the Institution of Engineers of Kenya’s 4th Future Leaders Summit in Mombasa.
- Caroline Wanjeri Kihara, Director of Mortgage Business at KCB Bank, highlighted that the future belongs to engineers who merge expertise with innovation, creativity, entrepreneurship, and digital intelligence like AI.
- AI is transforming infrastructure design, monitoring, city planning, and industrial operations, with Kihara stating it "is not replacing engineers, it is amplifying the engineer’s mind."
- Eng. Shammah Kiteme, President of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya, challenged young engineers to be visionaries using modern tools and forward-looking thinking for national development.
