UDA’s Leonard Wa Muthende was declared the MP-elect for Mbeere North by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Friday morning after a tightly contested vote, narrowly defeating his Democratic Party (DP) opponent.

• Wa Muthende garnered 15,802 votes, while Newton Kariuki Ndwiga of the DP received 15,308 votes.
• The victory was celebrated by UDA’s top leadership, including Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, at the Siakago Tallying Centre.
• MP-elect Wa Muthende pledged to unify the constituency and focus on development projects like addressing water scarcity, youth unemployment, and road infrastructure.
