In a historic by-election on November 27, 2025, Isabella Leshimporo was elected as the first ever female Member of County Assembly for Angata Nanyukie Ward in Samburu County, Kenya, under the United Democratic Alliance ticket. She succeeds her late husband, Paul Leshimpiro, who was tragically killed in February 2024.
