Kenya has secured a significant global role by being elected as the vice chairperson of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) Telecommunication Development Advisory Group (TDAG), representing Africa.
- Fred Ong’aro, Deputy Director, Fund Strategy Coordination at the Communications Authority of Kenya, was elected to represent the African region in TDAG at the World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC) 2025 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
- This marks the second time Kenya has held the Vice Chair position of TDAG, enhancing its influence on global digital policy.
- Separately, Amin Mohammed, Director General of Criminal Investigations (DCI), was elected to the Interpol Executive Committee on November 27, representing Kenya and Africa for a three-year term.
