President William Ruto has ordered a significant overhaul of Kenya's Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU), tripling its personnel and expanding its national presence to intensify the war against drug abuse.

• The ANU's staffing will increase from 160 officers to 500, and its offices will expand from one to 34 nationwide.
• The directive was issued at State House, Nairobi, during the launch of the Jukwaa La Usalama Report and a meeting with chiefs.
• Ruto also announced plans to overhaul alcohol licensing, establish rehabilitation facilities in every county, and digitize police records.
