The United Kingdom has issued a fresh travel advisory, cautioning its citizens against non-essential visits to several regions in Kenya due to heightened security risks from terrorist groups operating from neighboring Somalia.

• The UK's Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) urges Britons to avoid all travel to areas along the Kenya–Somalia border and parts of the northern coast.
• Specific areas listed under the strictest warning include Mandera County, Tarbaj and Wajir East constituencies in Wajir County, and all areas within 60 kilometers of the Somalia border.
• The advisory cites persistent threats posed by al-Shabaab militants, who have carried out sporadic attacks on security installations and civilian targets, and is the third travel advisory issued by the UK within weeks.
