The Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) have refuted claims that some of its soldiers stole a portion of a 1,024 kilograms methamphetamine consignment during a multi-agency intelligence operation on October 25, 2025. Despite the denial, KDF confirms an investigation has been launched into the allegations.

1,024 kilograms of methamphetamine were intercepted from a stateless dhow.
The operation involved coordination with the Regional Coordination Operations Centre (RCOC) in Seychelles and the Regional Maritime Information Fusion Centre (RMIFC) in Madagascar.
KDF stated the entire 1,024 kilograms of methamphetamine remains intact and is under continuous protection.
An investigation is underway, and disciplinary and legal measures will be taken if allegations are substantiated against KDF personnel.
