Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has claimed his life is in danger after a live bullet landed near his Kibiku village home in Kabete on Sunday afternoon, just 50 meters from his residence. The incident, where the bullet pierced a neighbor’s roof and landed in a children’s bedroom, has prompted calls for increased security due to suspicions it was deliberately aimed at the Governor.

• The bullet reportedly came from a powerful weapon, possibly an AK-47, fired from approximately 200 meters away.
• The incident occurred shortly after Governor Wamatangi returned from his farm, and the neighbor, Margaret Njeri, reported finding the bullet after initially thinking it was a stone.
• This event follows a series of political challenges for Wamatangi, including past threats from powerful cartels, multiple impeachment attempts by Kiambu MCAs, and a April 2025 raid by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on his residence and offices.
