Human rights organizations, led by Vocal Africa, have issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) to address alleged widespread electoral offences during recent by-elections. They threaten legal action if no steps are taken to curb voter bribery, intimidation, and violence that reportedly occurred.

• Vocal Africa leader, Executive Director Khalid Hussein, accused the IEBC and EACC of inaction, stating the by-elections were neither free nor fair.
• The Election Observation Group (ELOG) also flagged breaches of electoral integrity in areas like Kasipul, Malava, Mbeere North, Nairobi, and Machakos.
• ELOG's national coordinator, Mule Musau, cited Section 9 of the Electoral Offences Act, which carries penalties of up to Sh2 million in fines or a six-year jail term for voter bribery.
• Obsevers documented public officials using state resources for campaigns and unauthorized individuals accessing polling stations, compromising ballot secrecy.
