A civil servant, Maroa Sammy Maroa, an economist with the State Department for Cabinet Affairs, has been arrested in Thika for allegedly orchestrating repeated forgery schemes, including impersonating senior government officials.

• Maroa was apprehended in Ngoigwa, Thika West Sub-county, following an intelligence-led operation by DCI.
• He is accused of forging a letter to the National Police Service Commission (NPSC), recommending recruits, and previously promoting himself to Director and transferring himself to the State Department for Housing.
• Maroa was already under suspension for a separate forgery case and faces charges at the Kahawa Law Courts.
