Nairobi's City Hall has dismissed claims of an immediate increase in parking fees, clarifying that the recently launched Tariff and Pricing Policy 2025–2030 is a strategic framework rather than a definitive fee adjustment. The policy aims to guide how the county will set, review, and update charges for various services over the next five years.

• The policy's cost analysis indicates that providing a single parking service costs approximately KSh 520, but this does not mean an automatic increase from the current KSh 300.
• Tiras Njoroge, Nairobi County Receiver of Revenue, emphasized that any change in charges must follow the Finance Act-making process and consider economic realities.
• The policy, the first of its kind since devolution, seeks to link fees to the cost of service delivery, ensuring a fair, transparent, and lawful method of setting charges.
